International Paper is proud to work with national organizations in the U.S. and global organizations that make a greater impact on the communities where we live and work.

U.S. Collaborations

American Red Cross

International Paper is a national Annual Disaster Giving Program member for the American Red Cross. This commitment builds upon International Paper’s long-time support of American Red Cross disaster relief programs and helps more than 100 communities across the country.

Arbor Day Foundation

International Paper’s support of Arbor Day Foundation's Community Tree Recovery Program is promoting community resilience by helping homeowners recover the beauty and benefit of trees after a natural disaster, as well as helping to restore forestlands impacted by natural disasters.

Coaching For Literacy

International Paper and Coaching for Literacy are working together to support the Fight for Literacy Games initiative benefiting school children from kindergarten to 3rd grade. The Fight for Literacy Games empower NCAA basketball coaches, their teams and fans to participate in literacy awareness efforts, volunteer work and fundraising activities.

Celebrate Planet Earth

International Paper works in cooperation with Celebrate Planet Earth to distribute butterfly kits and sunflower kits to classrooms around the country. The kits provide caterpillars, butterfly houses, sunflower seed packets, take-home activities and a teacher’s guide with complete instructions for kindergarten through third-grade classrooms.

Feeding America

International Paper works with Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, to help feed America’s hungry and to support its national disaster relief efforts. We mobilize our people, products and resources to help “Box out Hunger.”

National Fish and Wildlife Foundation

International Paper’s conservation relationship with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, known as Forestland Stewards, is an innovative public-private collaboration that serves as an outstanding model for landscape-scale conservation. By combining financial and technical resources, International Paper and NFWF are able to restore native forests, strengthen important fish and wildlife populations, and protect watersheds — while at the same time promoting and supporting working forests.

Reading is Fundamental

International Paper supports Reading is Fundamental through their Books for Ownership program, which gives age-appropriate books to first-graders in school districts where our employees live and work, so they can begin building their own home libraries.

United Way

International Paper annually conducts more than 80 local United Way campaigns in the U.S. and Canada, enabling employees to donate to their communities in a meaningful way. International Paper matches employee donations by 60 cents on the dollar. In addition to financial pledges, employee volunteers participate in a variety of United Way Days of Caring projects.

Global Collaborations

The Global FoodBanking Network

International Paper is working with The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) to expand child-focused programming to feed food insecure and undernourished children in Brazil, Canada, Poland, and Spain. In just one year, funding is expected to provide more than 2.4 million pounds of surplus food to more than 100,000 hungry and malnourished children so they can start their day prepared to learn and thrive.

The Nature Conservancy

International Paper provides support for The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a collaborative, science-based non-governmental organization that works to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. Support from IP is making several of TNC’s forest sustainability, water stewardship and responsible sourcing projects possible, including a global project focused on reduced-impact logging for carbon (RIL-C) in Indonesia and Gabon.

World Wildlife Fund

International Paper supports World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) initiative to advance the concept of science-based targets that will identify what quantity and quality of forest land is needed globally and regionally to ensure forests provide people, plants and animals with the clean air and water, food, and other services they need to thrive. Our support is also enabling a restoration project in the Mogi Guaçu river basin in Brazil. Learn more about our collaborations with WWF here.
