Chunlin Yan
Vice President, Government Affairs, International Paper Asia
Chunlin Yan is vice president, government affairs, International Paper Asia. He is a member of the International Paper Asia Lead Team.
In his role, Yan works with business and corporate leadership on developments and issues of government policy relevant to International Paper’s business in Asia, and coordinates with Memphis and European Union on relevant bilateral issues to form and implement strategies to shape public policy in foreign jurisdictions. He represents International Paper before Chinese and foreign government policy-makers, and supports business in facilitating merger and acquisition and investment approval processes. Yan is based in Beijing China.
Chunlin started his career in 1990 and has spent the last 16 years in government and public affairs related functions in both multinational companies and government offices, including CAPEC (Conference of Asia Pacific Express Carriers), Edelman, Emerson and Ministry of Commerce China. Before joining International Paper, Yan worked for TE Connectivity for four years as director, global government affairs for China.
Yan holds a master of business administration from Tsinghua University, a degree in economics from University of International Business & Economics and a bachelor’s in computer science from Fudan University.
